Storytellers are dreamers.

Can I tell you about my dream?

👇🏻 I know this looks long, but it only takes about a minute or two to read. :)

This podcast is my childhood dream come true—telling stories to folks all over the world from my cabin in the mountains. Here's how that happened, and how you are a part of that dream.

I've always loved telling stories.

When I was a kid, I didn't have a lot of friends.

To entertain myself, I used to love to sit next to my record player on my bedroom floor and play my 45s. While I changed the records, I would dream up stories and tell them into a hockey stick that in my imagination was a microphone.

I lived in the suburbs, but I was fascinated with TV shows about the wilderness and mountain men. When I wasn't telling stories, I was usually making a fort in the backyard and dreaming it was the cabin I'd one day build out in the woods somewhere.

Today, I'm living that dream here at my tiny cabin in Northern California, and I'm so grateful for all of you who listen and share the podcast with your friends. Thanks to you, every week, I get to tell stories to thousands of people all over the world, and I've made so many wonderful new friends.

Some of you asked how you could support the podcast, so I started a couple of subscription plans to give you a little something extra for your support.

Dream Supporters

For $1 a month (or less if you use the yearly subscription option) you can support the podcast and get the new episodes of Listen To Sleep a day earlier, without any introduction or ads. You'll also get access to over 10 hours of nature sounds I've recorded up here around the cabin, things like flowing water in a quiet creek, rain on the roof or crickets in a meadow. They're all super relaxing and will make you feel like you're here in the mountains too.

Get the podcast a day earlier with no ads for $1/month.

Listen To Sleep Plus

I created Listen To Sleep Plus for all the folks who wanted a little something extra to help them fall asleep. It includes a second episode every Wednesday where I read 30 minutes to an hour of a longer book, serially. Listen To Sleep Plus also includes a private feed of the back catalog, edited and remastered. It’s just the stories, so you can make playlists of the ones you love that can go on for as long as you like with no ads or introductions.

I’ll also be adding more nature recordings and bonus sleep meditation episodes as subscriptions grow, giving me more time to devote to the podcast. If I could make this my full time endeavor, I'd love to add a third episode every week that would be available for everyone.

👇🏻 Here's the first episode of the Wednesday night episodes if you want to hear what they're like.

Your subscription to Listen To Sleep Plus gives you 8 or more stories every month, including:

  • the regular Sunday night episodes, ad-free and a day earlier
  • the Plus-exclusive Wednesday night episodes, ad-free
  • access to the entire remastered back catalog, ad-free
  • sleep meditation episodes
  • relaxing nature sounds I record around the cabin
  • my undying gratitude for allowing me to spend more of my time being your bedtime storyteller

Supporting the podcast through either option is easy, only takes a couple clicks, and you can cancel anytime. There's no risk. If you subscribe and change your mind, just cancel anytime in the first month and I'll make sure you get a full refund.

For those of you who love the podcast but can't afford to support it financially, I don't ever want money to keep you from having anything that helps you sleep, so just email me at erik@listentosleep.com and I'll send you an rss link you can put in your favorite podcast app that will give you access to all of this for free.

We really are all in this together and I'd love to have your support to realize my dream of making the podcast even better and telling more stories to help more people get better sleep.

Thank you so much.💜

Erik
