This week the rain has started to come down hard. We're expecting over a foot to have fallen by the end of the week, with five inches forecast for Sunday alone. It's magical when it does this up here. The creek goes from a quiet trickle to a raging roar.
The moss on the oaks fluffs up, turns bright green and comes to life after waiting through the dry summer all curled up.
The toyon bushes are starting to burst with bright orange berries.
It's officially the beginning of the season for hunkering down by the fire and enjoying a good book. I couldn't be more ready.
